Libertarian Sites in SA

Gary Moore
There seem to be three websites that South African libertarians are using:

a) There is the 'Libertarian South Africa' Google Groups discussion forum http://groups.google.com/group/libsa started in 2007;

b) And there is the South African Libertarian Society's blog 'Libertarian South Africa' http://libsa.wordpress.com/ that was developed in October 2010 by Trevor Watkins to replace the less-substantial Google Groups website in time;

c) And there is this Libertarians Facebook group http://www.facebook.com/groups/143385285718054/ that was started in early 2011 by me, unaware as I was then of the other two.

Then there is also a bunch of others:

Newspapers

Thomas Jefferson was eager for a First Amendment to protect the (citizen-based) press of his time because he knew it would help keep power honest and accountable. He put it rather well: “Were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers, or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate for a moment to prefer the latter.”

War

As Joseph Schumpeter, the renowned economist and political scientist, famously wrote of the military in imperialist states:
"Created by the wars that required it, the machine now created the wars it required."

Rothbard

Again, as a neoclassical economist, Rothbard did not agree with the labor theory. He believed that prices of goods and services are proportional to marginal utility rather than to labor amounts in free market. And he did not think that there was anything exploitative about people receiving an income according to how much others subjectively value their labor or what that labor produces, even if it means people laboring the same amount receive different incomes.
